Movement Activities Are Organized For The Students At Brain Hurricane
Brain Hurricane is a free tutoring service for the students from kindergarten to eighth grade which offers them innovative ways of learning in a positive environment. It was introduced by Reed Howard, who has a vast experience in teaching. She started her teaching career in a small, poor school district in Bloomingdale, Michigan. She created this effective tutoring service for students so that they can learn practically and can also deal with the real life problems in a better manner. The teaching methods adopted at this program are efficient enough to make the students understand the basic concepts of the lesson which reduces the burden of cramming and also helps them to recall the lessons at the time of examinations. Highly skilled and proficient teachers are employed who go through professional training to understand the teaching methods adopted at Brain Hurricane. The curriculum developed by these teachers is aligned with the national and state standards and contains all the relevant content. Stress is laid on the reading skills, mathematics and vocabulary development of students and the student to tutor ratio in this program is 6:1 to 2:1.
At Brain Hurricane, students are divided into teams which make them learn the meaning of team spirit and help them to gain competitive attitude as they have to perform better than the rest of the teams in order to win. The students are taught the divergent approach for solving a problem which means that for every problem, there exist multiple solutions. Various movement activities like Multiplication Basketball and Spelling Jump Ropes are organized at the beginning of each day which helps in grabbing the attention of students and invigorating their sleeping minds.
